Eufaula man shot to death behind his girlfriend’s home

A 28-year-old Eufaula, Ala., man was killed Monday night in a shooting in Opelika, Ala, according to a report from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The Lee County deputy coroner pronounced 28-year-old Kenneth Justin Williamson around 11:08 p.m.

Officers from the sheriff’s office responded to a call around 9:39 p.m. Monday regarding a shooting at a Mobile Home Park in the 300 block of Lee Road 114.

Deputies found Williamson lying on the ground in the backyard near the wood line.

He was suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest, back and left arm.

The body will be sent to the Alabama Medical Examiner’s Office in Montgomery, Ala., for an autopsy.

The shooting occurred on the rental property of the deceased man’s girlfriend.

According to witnesses and neighbors, the victim came to the home uninvited and was confronted by two male guests visiting the address.

There were two women and two children on the property at the time of the shooting.

Nobody else suffered any injuries.

Evidence indicates the shooter used a handgun.

The investigation continues.
