Police: Columbus man peeped into man’s window while he was using bathroom
A Columbus man was using the bathroom in his Fortson Road home when a man peeped into his window, according to testimony Monday in Recorder’s Court.
Austin Pierce, 26, pleaded not guilty to two counts of peeping tom. He was ordered held in the Muscogee County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
Judge Julius Hunter bound the case over to Superior Court.
Columbus Police Officer Gregory Anderson said he was called to the 7600 block of Fortson Road around 11:55 p.m. Saturday to investigate an unspecified incident.
A man said he was walking his dog outside of his Fortson Road home when he spotted an unknown white man standing on a chair and looking into one of his windows.
The suspect saw him and fled with the chair.
The victim recognized the suspect as someone who peeped into his window several months ago while he was using the bathroom.
A neighbor told authorities that the suspect description matched Pierce’s description.
Police went to his home in the 7600 block of Fortson Road, where he allegedly admitted to peeping into the victim’s home that rainy night.
“He indicated that he was looking through the window for about five minutes and he didn’t see anything.” Anderson told the court. “We asked which chair he used, and he pointed at a chair in the living room...It had dirt on the bottom and the legs and seat were a little wet.”
