Four charged after fights break out at Dollar Tree on Buena Vista Road

Three women and a 14-year-old girl were charged after allegedly being involved in a fight at the Dollar Tree on Buena Vista Road, Columbus police said.

Tyeisha Hightower, 30, Jada Williamson, 19, Chanelle Broughton, 28, and a 14-year-old girl were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the altercation that ended without serious injuries. The adults were summoned to a July 21 hearing in Recorder’s Court.

Authorities were called to a Steam Mill Road home around 8:10 p.m. Thursday to speak with a group of women about an altercation at the Dollar Tree at 4105 Buena Vista Road.

They said they were involved in an ongoing dispute with another group of people they saw at the Rainbow Foods grocery store on Buena Vista Road, Columbus Police Sgt. Art Sheldon said.

“They had an ongoing altercation with some people, and they followed them over to the Dollar Tree,” he said. “When they were in the store, they started using verbal language and went to abusing each other.”

They said someone bumped into one of the women and a physical altercation broke out inside the business.

A video of the fight that was recorded on Facebook Live has gone viral with more than 186,000 views and 2,500 shares by Tuesday morning.

Sheldon said police are still investigating to get more information about what led to the altercation. Additional charges may be filed at a later date.
