Police searching for escaped prisoner near Tallapoosa County
The Alabama Department of Corrections is seeking the public’s help in locating an escaped inmate. Terry Lee Stokes, 43, was at his work site in Dadeville when he went missing, police say.
Stokes is serving a 20-year sentence at the Alex City Work Release Center for second degree burglary.
Police described him as 6-feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, with strawberry-blond hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, blue jeans covered in paint stains and a black and red ball cap.
Police encouraged anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to call their local law enforcement agency or the Alabama Department of Corrections at 1-800-831-8825.
