Police: Columbus man, woman arrested after dispute leads to stabbing
A man and woman were arrested Thursday morning after an altercation led to a stabbing on Walker Street, Columbus police said.
Nikki Nokesha Evans, 39, and Timothy Allen Johnson, 36, were arrested at 10:50 a.m. Thursday and charged with aggravated assault and family violence. They were placed in the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Friday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Columbus police were called to the 2400 block of Walker Street on Thursday to investigate an assault. Further investigation indicated that there was a dispute between Evans and Johnson.
During the incident, Evans allegedly stabbed Johnson in the leg and Johnson allegedly punched her in the mouth. Police said they received a court order to stay away from each other before Thursday’s altercation.
