A Columbus man has been accused of robbing at least three Columbus businesses in June, including a Circle K gas station.

Jamal Colbar Head was arrested at 11:37 a.m. Wednesday in connection with the series of incidents. He faces numerous charges including, armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and attempted armed robbery.

Head is being held in the Muscogee County Jail for 9 a.m. Friday in Recorder’s Court.

Columbus police said three armed robberies occurred between June 14 and June 19. The businesses targeted were the Circle K at 3720 Macon Road, Kim's Beauty Supply at 1326 Fort Benning Road and the Summit gas station at 1400 Double Churches Road.

Officials linked Head to all three incidents. He was taken into custody at a residence in the 200 block of 23rd Avenue after a standoff.

The standoff occurred moments after Head allegedly fled from another armed robbery at the Village Pawn Shop on Fort Benning Road, where more than 50 shots were fired between two suspects and an employee.

He was also charged in that incident after authorities identified him as the driver who helped the other two suspects flee the scene.
