Police say suspect seen running down Eighth Street after fatal shooting
Columbus police said a suspect was seen running down Eighth Street after a fatal shooting Sunday night.
According to an official report, officers were called to 2229 Eighth St. at 9:34 p.m. Sunday in reference to a person being shot.
Upon arriving, 25-year-old Nathan Johnson was found on his front porch suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Midtown Medical Center.
Muscogee County Chief Deputy Coroner Freeman Worley said Johnson was pronounced dead at 10:01 p.m.
His body will be sent to Atlanta for an autopsy.
Police said Johnson was confronted by an unknown suspect.
