Driver killed when Chevrolet Blazer strikes mailbox
A 44-year-old man was killed Monday morning when the 1989 Chevrolet Blazer he was driving left the roadway, struck a mailbox and overturned.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, pronounced dead at the scene was Steven Glenn Towns of Alexander City, Ala.
Officials say he was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash occurred around 5:50 a.m. on Fitzpatrick Road approximately six miles west of Wetumpka, Ala.
Alabama State Troopers are investigating.
