Police investigate two deaths at Efficiency Lodge on Boxwood Place

Authorities have been called to the Efficiency Lodge to investigate the deaths of a man and woman at 1776 Boxwood Place.

The names of the victims have not been released because authorities are still awaiting approval to enter the hotel room, said Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Charles Newton. He confirmed that two people are dead inside a hotel room on the bottom floor of the building but no other details have been released.

A crowd gathered briefly outside the hotel as police responded to investigate the deaths. A police officer remained on the scene late Friday to secure the scene.
