Two men shot near Lucky Food Mart on Floyd Road
A patrol officer was cruising the area when gunfire left two men shot near 2026 Floyd Road late Friday, Columbus police said Saturday.
Both men were taken to Midtown Medical Center after the 8 p.m. shooting near the Lucky Food Mart . No condition report was available on the victims.
Police Sgt. C. Hickman was traveling north on Floyd Road when he heard gunfire in the parking lot of the convenience store. After pulling into the parking lot, the officer saw a black four-door vehicle fleeing out of the north driveway and heading west on Hunter Road. The vehicle then continued north on Floyd Road.
One gunshot victim was found lying on the ground on the east side of the parking lot. Other officers arrived on the scene and located a second victim lying in the street on Kingsberry Drive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Kingsberry is just west across from Floyd Road.
Late Friday, police towed a vehicle from the parking lot of the convenience store.
Both shootings remain under investigation. Police didn’t specify whether the shootings may be related.
No one has been charged in connection with the shootings as the investigation continues.
