Columbus police searching for suspect in deadly shooting
Columbus police are searching for a murder suspect in the Thursday night shooting on Thomas Street that left 38-year-old Darnell Jackson dead.
Travis Thomas, 39, was described as a 6-foot black man who weighs between 180 and 200 pounds. He has “MLK” and “ADDY” tattooed on his right arm and “BLVD” tattooed on his left arm.
He is known to drive a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup truck with a Georgia tag that reads “RGA 4984,” according to police.
“Thomas should be considered armed and dangerous,” said Lt. Greg Touchberry with the homicide unit.
Thomas was accused in the death of Jackson, who was found suffering from a gunshot wound around 7:15 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of Thomas Street. He was transported to Midtown Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:03 p.m.
