There’s a new No. 1 in Alabama’s Class 7A football rankings
After one week of high school football in Alabama, a new team stands atop the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Class 7A poll.
The Central Red Devils made the leap from No. 2 to No. 1 this week. The Red Devils grabbed 20 first-place votes after defeating Bob Jones, then the No. 8 team in Class 7A, by a 33-7 score.
Former No. 1 Hoover lost to Grayson, a Class 7A school in Loganville, Ga., 35-26. The Buccaneers still received seven first-place votes this week.
