Hot, Crispy and juicy. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as fried chicken. And in Georgia, fried chicken is done right.
But which Georgia restaurant has some of the best fried chicken in the nation? Well, Yelp users actually just found the answer.
Yelp just released its list of the top 50 best fried chicken spots in the country and one Georgia restaurant made the top 5. Here’s what to know:
Top GA fried chicken restaurant
This Savannah, Georgia restaurant opened up in 1943 and is a southern cooking staple, serving up delicious, home-cooked fried-to-perfection chicken, as well as classic sides like collard greens, sweet potato soufflé, black-eyed peas, okra gumbo, corn muffins and biscuits. The restaurant first served as a boarding house, but once Sema Wilkes took over the building, she transformed it into a family eatery doubling as a charming inn called The Wilkes House. Locals and tourists can now stay and dine, or just simply pop in for a delicious and memorable meal.
However, there’s one very important thing to note: the menu changes daily to ensure locals get a taste of something different, so be sure to call ahead if you want to know the menu ahead of time.
