Is snow coming for GA? Here’s the remaining winter forecast from NWS, Farmers Almanac
We’ve seen a recent warm-up in Georgia for the beginning of 2026, but what will the rest of winter look like this year? Are there any possibilities of snow coming to the South?
Here’s what the experts predict:
January, February and March predictions from the Farmers’ Almanac
The Farmers’ Almanac predicts a “chill, snow, repeat” forecast for the rest of winter in the U.S., but does that include Georgia? Well, not exactly.
According to the Almanac, Georgia and other southeastern states will see wet weather with average temperatures. The only snow prediction is for the Appalachian regions, which “may see occasional snow events.”
Let’s see what other experts predict:
Predictions from National Weather Service and AccuWeather experts
National Weather Service experts predict above average temperatures for the rest of winter in Georgia, with below average precipitation chances.
AccuWeather meteorologists predict somewhat of the same, but more rain and storm potential through February.
“The Gulf Coast and parts of the Southeast should run above historical averages on temperatures and below on precipitation,” said AccuWeather meteorologist Paul Pastelok.
Pastelok also predicted warmer waters in the Gulf this winter, which could bring thunderstorms, with the risk of damaging winds, lightning and tornadoes.
