1. Police say man kidnapped girlfriend after firing shots at Peachtree Mall: Columbus police said Quatavious Randell Farley, 22, broke into a man’s van before firing shots at him and two others on June 5 in the Peachtree Mall parking lot. Farley, who allegedly forced his girlfriend to drive him away from the mall by holding her at gunpoint, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges on Monday in Columbus Recorder’s Court. He was ordered held in the Muscogee County Jail under bonds totaling $76,000.

2. Where did all the BTW residents go?: Much of the Booker T. Washington Apartment public housing complex has been demolished at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Victory Drive. Reporter Alva James-Johnson looked into what happened to the 391 families who lived there.

3: Phenix City renames Idle Hour Park: Phenix City Council renamed its premier city park on Tuesday in honor of the family that sold the land to the city in the 1940s. Idle Hour Park will now be Martin-Idle Hour Park, named after former movie theater owner Roy Martin and his family.

4: Columbus native crowned Miss USA: Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber, 26, was crowned Miss USA 2016 on June 6 in Las Vegas. Barber was born in Columbus, the daughter of an Army master sergeant at Fort Benning. She currently serves as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves.

5. Four taken into custody following Wells Fargo bank robbery attempt: Four individuals were taken into custody on June 4 following an attempted bank robbery at the Wells Fargo on 18th Street, according to Columbus police. Police Maj. Gil Slouchick said Dexter B. Thomas faced an aggravated assault charge in connection to the incident. Authorities did not release the names of the other individuals.
