Here’s a list of Columbus restaurants open for dine in or to-go on Thanksgiving

‘Tis the season for turkey, bread rolls, pumpkin pie and football.

Thanksgiving is one of the most festive (and filling) holidays, but to those who want to skip out on the macaroni and cheese and green been casserole, fret not.

Many restaurants across Columbus will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but a few are keeping their doors open — some with special menu items.

Here are local options for dine-in or pick up:

Local eats

Minnie’s Uptown, 104 Eighth St., will be open and serving lunch from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

The restaurant will be open for dine-in and to-go orders, serving a wide selection of fried chicken, pork chops, green beans, mashed potatoes and more.

Minnie’s Uptown also is accepting Thanksgiving catering orders at 706-322-2766.

Metro Diner, 5524 Whitesville Road, will be serving customers with a menu featuring a roasted ham or turkey plate and pumpkin bread pudding.

Metro Diner is also open for pre-ordering Thanksgiving meals, with pickup available the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Lemongrass Thai and Sushi, 2435 Wynnton Road, will be open normal hours on Thanksgiving, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

Houlihan’s, 5351 Sidney Simons Blvd., is serving Turkey Dinner Nov. 25 from noon to 7 p.m. Menu items include roasted turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and more.

Ole Times Country Buffet, 1900 Manchester Expressway, will be open for Thanksgiving according to a Facebook post. The restaurant will offer catering as well, and those interested can message the restaurant’s Facebook for more information.

Other chains

For those looking for a non-local cuisine (and a non-traditional Thanksgiving meal), there are plenty of eateries that’ll be operating on Thanksgiving Day, including:

  • Burger King
  • McDonald’s
  • Cracker Barrel
  • Denny’s
  • Golden Corral
  • Hardee’s
  • IHOP
  • Waffle House
  • Popeye’s
  • Sonic
  • Subway
  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • Domino’s
  • Chili’s

We recommend calling your restaurant of choice a day or two ahead of time to double-check holiday hours, given the changing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.
