Beloved Columbus restaurant relocates after 25 years ‘to be part of the boom’

Beloved Columbus restaurant B. Merrell’s has relocated.

This week, B. Merrell’s is opening their new location at 6835 Midland Commons Blvd. The restaurant is scheduled to open July 26 and resume normal hours: Tuesdays-Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Owners LynnAnn and Jason Chamberlin closed their former location at 7600 Veterans Parkway about three weeks ago. Since the closure, they have been working to quickly reopen at the new location. It’s been a whirlwind, LynnAnn said.

“We had been in our original location for 25 years,” she told the Ledger-Enquirer. “It’s a bittersweet transition to move. Looking at growth and our future, and at what areas are booming, this [location] is where we were geared towards. We’re super excited to see what the future holds here.”

Jason said Midland Commons is the right place for their restaurant to continue to grow, with newer businesses opening and residential areas being built in the area.

“To get here before it booms, and to be a part of the boom is historic, if you ask me,” he told the Ledger-Enquirer. “It’s really good for us and the local community too.”

“All the owners that have these places so far, some of them we already knew and some of them are new to us, but it’s been amazing,” LynnAnn added. “We get together once a month right now with everybody, and we come up with ideas for [Midland Commons]. We talk about events coming up and any ideas the owners want to have. I think it’s amazing to have our input on that. I’m excited about the partnership.”

Even though the location has changed, Jason emphasized that all other aspects of B. Merrell’s are staying the same. Most of the employees working at their new location are from the original restaurant. LynnAnn added that she hopes to hire more.

“I want [customers] to know nothing’s changing,” Jason said. “The recipes aren’t changing. The food’s not changing, and the quality’s not changing. That’s always the biggest question. But nothing is going to change.”

LynnAnn also emphasized that the restaurant still will have outdoor seating available, and customers with coupons or vouchers from their Beer Tour will be able to redeem them at their new location.

B. Merrell’s customers have highly rated the restaurant’s food, friendly service and affordable pricing, according to their Google reviews.
