Popular barbecue chain’s grand opening in Columbus to include charity donation

A popular Southern barbecue chain is about to host its grand opening in Columbus.

Jim ‘N Nick’s Community BBQ, 5674 Whittlesey Blvd., will conduct their grand opening Sept. 17 in Columbus Park Crossing.

The grand opening will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a $2,500 check presentation to Giving Kitchen, a nonprofit dedicated to helping food service workers through financial assistance and community resources, according to their website.

The check represents the funds raised by the restaurant during its recent family and friends weekend, according to the news release.

This is the chain’s first Columbus location. Jim ‘N Nicks has 59 locations across Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.

The restaurant was founded in Alabama in 1985, according to the news release.
