New donut shop coming to former Church’s Chicken location in Columbus

Drivers along South Lumpkin Road in Columbus may have noticed a new donut shop coming to a former Church’s Chicken location.

Ray’s Donuts is preparing to open at 1821 South Lumpkin Road. According to property records, the owner, Masy Seng, bought the property for $190,000 from Clairemont Emmanuel Baptist Church and San Diego Missions Trust in December 2023.

Seng is also behind Ray’s Donuts locations in Canton and Warner Robins, according to the Georgia Secretary of State records.

Ray’s Donuts menu in Warner Robins offers a variety of donuts, along with breakfast sandwiches that include bagels and burritos. The donut shop also serves cappuccinos, tea, smoothie and lemonade.

The Ledger-Enquirer didn’t reach Seng for comment before publication, but work on the building suggests that residents and visitors in south Columbus will have another option for sweet treats.
