Why did Chef Nita temporarily close La’ Sammich in Columbus? She explains
Anita “Chef Nita” Admore has temporarily closed her restaurant, La’ Sammich, at 4820 Armour Road in Columbus, to refocus her efforts on the La’ Sammich food truck. Admore announced the temporary closure in a Facebook post Feb. 18.
“After recently announcing new menus and expanded hours, I’ve taken some time to reflect and realized that, to preserve the quality and consistency you expect, I need to focus fully on the food truck starting today,” Admore wrote. “Effective immediately, the restaurant will be closed until further notice as I work behind the scenes to revamp and elevate it to match the vision I have for it. My hands-on presence is a huge part of the experience you know and love, and I want to ensure every plate meets that standard.”
Admore answered a commenter’s question about the impact of this closure on employees.
Facebook user Max_62581 asked, “What about your employees during this temporary closure?”
Admore replied: “I’ve handled that privately. Also, my employees have been informed well before the public. Thanks.”
Admore did not respond to the L-E’s request for comment before publication.
“Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support,” Admore wrote in the post. “I can’t wait to welcome you back into the restaurant when the time is right.”
A reopening timeline wasn’t announced before publication.
The La’ Sammich food truck opened in January 2024, and the restaurant opened in August 2025, serving handcrafted tacos, loaded nachos and other street-style menu items.
