Columbus Botanical Garden and The Bottle Shop bring back Bourbon and Blooms

Spring is in full bloom at the Columbus Botanical Garden, which is merging fine bourbon, Southern cuisine and flowers next week in a bourbon tasting event hosted in partnership with The Bottle Shop.

Bourbon and Blooms in the Garden will be held at the Columbus Botanical Garden on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event has been held four times over the past six years, Lauren Money, director of marketing for the Botanical Garden, told the Ledger-Enquirer in an email.

Organizers are asking participants to dress in their “finest spring garden attire,” according to a news release. They will be able to taste a curated selection of fine bourbons from The Bottle Shop during the event.

“We’re proud to partner with The Bottle Shop, whose bourbon experts guide guests through a curated tasting experience, ranging from smooth, approachable pours to more complex, refined profiles,” Money said.

General admission tickets cost $50 per adult over 21. Participants may also purchase the Patron Package, four tickets for $500, which includes VIP parking, free flower bar and additional activities.

“For those looking to elevate their experience, Patron Package guests will enjoy access to an exclusive, high-end bourbon tasting featuring premium selections not available elsewhere at the event,” Money said.

The Southern cuisine menu was created by Atlanta-based Chef Morris Jackson, Money said, and will offer a twist to classic flavors.

“His curated selection of Southern fusion bites is designed to perfectly complement the bourbon offerings, with standout items like savory pork belly and indulgent banana pudding,” she said.

As part of the event, participants are encouraged to dress their best because there will also be a Best Dressed contest, Money said.

“It’s a lively, stylish and memorable way to celebrate the season,” she said.
