New European-inspired café to open in Columbus at Highside Market
A new culinary tenant is moving into Highside Market in Columbus.
Bloom, a European-inspired pâtisserie and café, is set to open in the downtown market space around Labor Day weekend, Highside Market announced Monday.
The café, founded by Columbus entrepreneur Ritesh Mali, will serve French and Italian pastries, light lunches inspired by Southern and European cuisines and beverages including loose-leaf tea and a summer cocktail favorite, botanical spritzes.
“Bloom will bridge the gap between a premium European patisserie and a warm Southern neighborhood café,” Highside Market said in a news release.
Mali explained why he chose Highside Market as the location for Bloom.
“We fell in love with Highside Market’s vision because it perfectly mirrors what we want Bloom to be: a beautiful blend of premium design, rich local culture and genuine community warmth,” Mali said in the news release. “We’re excited to join incredible neighbors like Parlour Doughnuts, Nonic Kitchen & Bar, Flying Biscuit Café and Ray’s. Together, we’re creating a destination where every concept offers something unique and where people can gather, connect, and celebrate.”
Mali also plans to host weekend high teas and evening toasts at Bloom.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Bloom to the Highside Market family,” Chris Woodruff, principal owner of Woodruff Brokerage Company, said in the news release. “Our vision has always been to create a destination filled with unique, locally driven businesses that bring people together. Bloom is a perfect fit, and we’re excited to welcome Ritesh and his family while continuing to grow the Highside experience with even more exciting announcements in the future.”
