Alabama reports two new coronavirus cases in Lee County. Here’s the full list.
There are now three cases of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, in Lee County, Alabama, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
The first case was confirmed by the Alabama Department of Public Health in Lee County around 7:20 p.m. March 15. The person that contracted COVID-19 is an East Alabama Medical Center employee in Opelika.
More information about the newly diagnosed residents has not been released.
According to a press release from the hospital, the individual’s systems are “mild” and they are currently quarantined at home.
“We are closely monitoring every patient, visitor and employee; and have taken every precaution to minimize the spread of COVID-19,” the hospital said in the release.
Alabama’s current case count stands at 39. There are currently no deaths associated with COVID-19 in the state.
