24 new coronavirus cases reported in Muscogee County and surrounding areas Monday

Muscogee County and its surrounding counties reported 2,026 total cases of the new coronavirus as of the 1 p.m. Monday update from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Twenty-four new cases were reported after Sunday’s 1 p.m. update. Two cases were removed by the DPH in Meriwether County Monday.

A total of 125 deaths in the region were reported as of the 1 p.m. update.

Here’s a breakdown by county of total cases, deaths and hospitalizations:

  • Muscogee: 434, 16, 84
  • Sumter: 416, 39, 123
  • Troup: 200, 6, 55
  • Crisp: 196, 7, 37
  • Randolph: 169, 21, 31
  • Dooly: 160, 12, 34
  • Macon: 91, 6, 33
  • Harris: 74, 3, 14
  • Meriwether: 70, 1, 11
  • Marion: 43, 2, 8
  • Stewart: 37, 0, 12
  • Clay: 30, 3, 6
  • Talbot: 30, 1, 11
  • Taylor: 22, 2, 8
  • Chattahoochee: 19, 0, 6
  • Schley: 16, 1, 7
  • Webster: 11, 1, 4
  • Quitman: 8, 1, 4

Georgia’s West-Central Health District covers 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Troup and Meriwether counties are not in the West-Central Health District but because of their proximity to Columbus, the Ledger-Enquirer will track those numbers as well.
