Alabama

The number of novel coronavirus cases in Alabama has now reached 12,376, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s 3 p.m. EST Tuesday update.

The number of reported cases in Lee County stands at 450, while Russell County’s total stands at 109.

There have been 157,566 tests done statewide. Private labs are not required to report negative tests — meaning it’s possible that the actual number of tests conducted is greater.

The state reports 504 COVID-19-related deaths Friday evening and 1,453 hospitalizations.
