Alabama police arrest men who allegedly robbed elderly man at Columbus Bojangles
The Columbus Police Department recently identified and took out warrants for two individuals accused of robbing an elderly man at a Columbus Bojangles last November, among other crimes.
Christian Brown, 31, of New York, New York and Michael Priester, 21, of Columbia, South Carolina, are accused of assaulting an elderly man at the Bojangles located at 2883 Airport Thruway around 8 a.m. Nov. 20.
Brown and Priester were later seen on surveillance footage inside of a Walmart in Valley, Alabama, around 9:30 a.m., where they used Duffey’s credit cards to make purchases inside of the store.
Brown and Priester are currently being held in the Lee County Jail for several felony offenses, Sergeant Dawn Tuning of the CPD Bureau of Investigative Services said over email.
These felonies include strong arm robbery, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Search log. Both men also face felony charges in Lexington, South Carolina.
On Nov. 19, Brown and Priester broke into a woman’s home via a back door. Once inside, the two men forced their way into her bedroom and stole various items from her, including the keys to the woman’s 2013 Honda Civic.
Brown and Priester will be extradited to the Lexington County Detention Center in Lexington after their charges with the Auburn Police Department are resolved. Then, the Columbus Police Department will have them extradited back here some day in the future.
“It may be a while before we get them, but they are not going anywhere any time soon,” Tuning said.
