One of the safest cities in Georgia is right here in the Chattahoochee Valley, according to a study by AdvisorSmith.com.

Columbus is ranked No. 12 in the state for safest largest cities, out of 272 cities analyzed by the website. The city was given a crime score of 79.2, which was determined by FBI crime data for reported crimes such as murder, rape and more.

The safest largest city in Georgia is in John’s Creek, with a crime score of 11.6.

Columbus is the only city in the Chattahoochee Valley to be ranked in the largest safest city list, but a few others were ranked in the website’s midsize and small city lists.

For safest midsized cities in Georgia, LaGrange made the list at No. 39, with a crime score of 92.7.
