The number of fires increase during the fall and winter months, according to the American Red Cross, so it’s important for Columbus residents to be prepared ahead of time.

Having a plan in place when there’s a fire can help save lives, both at home and out in public, if it occurs. Fires can become life-threatening in seconds and reach up to 600 degrees at eye level, according to ready.gov by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
