Eat your meal and enjoy desserts under an ‘Eiffel Tower’ in this Columbus restaurant
If you want to dine under the Eiffel Tower but don’t feel like driving to Atlanta and hopping on a flight to Paris, there’s an alternative.
Instead, drive to downtown Columbus to My Boulange & Tower Pizza.
Located inside a beautiful building with smells of a French bakery, pizzeria, and coffee shop, the restaurant hosts conversations among friends that ring off the exposed brick walls.
An ornate chandelier hangs from the ceiling as the lights on the side walls give you the impression that you are walking down the streets of Paris on a beautiful Summer night as “That’s Amore” by Dean Martin plays in your head.
The Eiffel Tower looms over the front of the store where you place your order. Craving a good sandwich, I went up to the front and ordered a Muffaletta. What is that you may ask?
The Muffaletta is a sandwich that combines salty and cheesy, with a burst of herbs and earthy flavor from the olive mix that is spread across the bread.
The Muffaletta has Genoa salami, mortadella, olive mix, provolone, and Swiss cheese on Ciabatta bread. The steam came cascading out as I opened the sandwich to show the contents to my coworker and tease him about what he was missing. Though his dessert did look delicious.
There are endless combinations you can choose with a large menu ranging from amazing hot sandwiches, salads, pizzas and breakfast options to choose from. I might have to head here early one morning to try their three-egg omelet or Croque Madam which is Ham, Swiss Cheese, sunny-side egg, with mornay sauce on Tuscan white bread.
For those with a sweet tooth you can try one of their many delicious looking desserts. My photo chief partner, Mike Haskey, selected the chocolate twist, a long pretzel-twist-like pastry with chocolate chips oozing out of the twists. A dessert hard to pass up, but I stayed strong in my conviction to try to adhere to my attempt to diet.
Opened n 2016 My Boulange features pastries and food from French chef Bruno Rizzo. Rizzo was a former owner and operator of a popular New Orleans French bakery called named Le Boulangerie before selling his share of the business after Hurricane Katrina, according to Ledger-Enquirer reporting.
My Boulange ranked in the top 5 in a list of best coffee places in Columbus created by the Ledger-Enquirer based on Yelp, TripAdvisor and Google reviews. Their sandwiches also come highly recommended based on TripAdvisor reviews as well.
The restaurant was also the highest ranked dessert venue based on an average of Yelp, TripAdvisor and Google reviews compiled by the Ledger-Enquirer.
