Amazing Race 2011: Who got eliminated in the Amazing Race Season 19 Episode 4?
The Ledger-Enquirer live blogged the Amazing Race Season 19 Episode 4. See a full recap below:
Andy and Tommy are first place. Liz and Marie are last place but they are still in the race because this leg was non-elimination.
The eight remaining teams start the fourth leg of the race in Indonesia. Andy and Tommy, currently in first place, learn they must go to Phuket, Thailand. Once at the notorious beach resort, they must reach the end of a small dock and get their first clue.
Andy and Tommy reach the airport first, and learn there's no direct flight. They figure they must go to Jakarta first, and they tell Laurence and Zac that information once they reach the airport.
Justin and Jennifer are fourth place. Amani and Marcus, of Pine Mountain, Ga.! are sixth place.
Everyone heads to the airport and starts looking for flights. Jeremy and Sandy get their tickets to Jakarta and then to Phuket, while the first two teams didn't bother to get their second flight yet.
Andy and Tommy and Laurence and Zac reach Jakarta and learn there's no direct flight to Phuket. They must first go through Bangkok.
Everyone who was behind the first two teams are the first to arrive in Phuket. They hop into cabs and head to the marina, with each team convincing their cabbies to pass everyone else.
Andy and Tommy and Laurence and Zac arrive about an hour after the other teams and head to the cab stand, where they learn how far behind they are.
Jeremy and Sandy reach the marina first. It's the middle of the night, and they see a sign which appears to state that the site doesn't open until 8 a.m. The other teams begin arriving, with Andy and Tommy and Laurence and Zac arriving last.
The sun rises and the teams see the dock where the next clue is. The race into the water and begin running across the very slippery and moving dock to reach the clue that's tied to a barrell at the far end of the dock. They then learn their Detour: Coral Reconstruction or Beach Preparation.
Coral reconstruction: Teams must make a coral nursery. They put little baby corals onto a paddle boat, and then paddle to where they'll place the coral under water. Once completely placed in the coral nursery, they'll get their next clue.
Beach Preparation: Teams must get 20 chairs and 10 umbrellas that match the sticker on their Detrou clue. Once set up to a professional's standards, they'll get their next clue.
Andy and Tommy go for Coral and start building the nursery, which appears to be blue PVC pipe. Amani and Marcus also go for Coral, as do Bill and Cathi and Justin and Jennifer.
Twins Liz and Marie are pulling chairs and umbrellas out of a very disorganized shed for Beach. Ernie and Cindy are right beside them, as are Laurence and Zac.
Andy and Tommy grab a kayak after building their nursery and carry it to the ocean. They start paddling out. Once they reach their destination, they hop in the water, drag their nursery with them and secure it to the bottom with a large rock. They start plugging the coral into the nursery and quickly get the professional's approval.
Andy and Tommy are heading back to land while the other teams start installing their nursery. Jeremy and Sandy are still building their nursery as Andy and Tommy get back to land and get their clue:
Teams must use a medallian which will lead them to Soap Island, where they'll find their next clue.
Justin and Jennifer argue the entire time, yet somehow complete the task. Jeremy and Sandy's nursery falls apart as they get into the water as Amani and Marcus have a similar problem.
Amani and Marcus leave Coral and go for Beach, because the waves and wind has completely worn them out.
Ernie and Sandy, at Beach, are having serious difficulty getting the umbrellas to stay in the sand and not fly away in the wind.
Andy and Tommy use the medallion, a la "The Goonies," to find their next clue, which is to climb a massive vertical rock face. Once they reach a bird's nest, they'll get their next clue.
Justin and Jennifer are on their heels in second place.
Andy reaches the vertical rock face and starts climbing at breakneck speed. He reaches the bird nest and begins rappelling back down. In first place, they learn this leg's Pit Stop: Koh Panyi -- a floating village. Once there, teams must get to a floating soccer field where they'll find Phil.
Amani and Marcus have just finished Beach and are in fifth place. Jeremy and Sandy finish Beach and are in sixth place.
Andy and Tommy reach the floating village and quickly find Phil on the soccer field. They are first place. They win $5,000 each.
Justin and Jennifer are second place.
Laurence and Zac have just reached the clue leading them to the rock climb. Bill and Cathi just finish Beach and are in seventh place.
Amani and Marcus are in fourth place. They've just gotten the clue leading them to the rock climb.
Ernie and Cindy boated completely past the two massive rocks where their clue is. They appear very lost.
Liz and Marie are fighting with each other at Beach, because they're in last place.
Laurence and Zac thought they were on the right track but now they seem lost. The other teams are all neck and neck at the rock climb or on their way to the floating village.
Jeremy and Sandy are third place. Laurence and Zac are fourth place. Ernie and Cindy are fifth place. Amani and Marcus are sixth place. Bill and Cathi are seventh place.
Liz and Marie are last place. However, it's a non-elimination leg of the race and they are still in the race.
