In the wake of last week’s Russell County car crash that killed a Phenix City woman, supporters are raising money for her funeral — and for her children.

Tiffany B. Petway, 31, died in a head-on collision Thursday night on U.S. 80 about three miles west of Phenix City, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Brandon Petway established an online account at GoFundMe.com that, as of Monday, has raised $5,357 from 65 donors in three days toward the $6,500 goal.

“Tiffany was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and — most importantly — a mother to two beautiful children,” Brandon, whose relationship with Tiffany isn’t noted, wrote on the GoFundMe page. “Her sudden passing has left our family heartbroken and facing unimaginable challenges.

“This unexpected loss has left our family in deep grief, and it has also placed an overwhelming financial burden on us. We are reaching out during this difficult time to ask for support with funeral arrangements and to help provide stability for Tiffany’s children as they face life without their mom.”

Brandon told the Ledger-Enquirer in an email that he is the only brother of Tiffany, who was a single mother.

“She recently got a job she really enjoyed at Dollar General,” he said in the email. “She was so excited she finally found a job she enjoyed and so excited to be able to save money and get her life back on track after a few rough years of life.

Brandon described Tiffany as “a very heartwarming person who left smiles with everyone she came in contact with. She loved her two kids, Jayda and Kayden, and would do anything for them to be happy, no matter what sacrifices.”
