The high school where Tony Dimitri played baseball, and where he and his father coached in Columbus, will host a candlelight vigil to honor him.

Dimitri died Saturday in an ATV accident. He played and coached for Jordan Vocational High School, where his father, Anthony, was a member of the Red Jackets’ 1971 state championship team and was the baseball program’s head coach and athletics director for 18 years before he died in 2008.

Tony and his twin brother, John, also coached at Jordan. Tony was Harris County High School’s head baseball coach at the time of his death. John is the head softball coach and athletics director at Marion County High School.

Jordan will conduct its vigil to celebrate Tony’s life at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29, on the school’s baseball field.

“We will gather as one Jordan family to remember, reflect, and show our love and support for Tony and those closest to him,” says the post on Jordan’s Facebook page. “Your presence means more than words. Once a Red Jacket, always a Red Jacket.”
