Columbus public forum is your time to meet Ledger-Enquirer staff, share story ideas
It’s been a mighty newsy past few months in Columbus. In fact, during my 34 years working at the Ledger-Enquirer, I don’t recall a day more packed with pivotal local news than June 16, when:
- Runoff elections decided races for mayor and two city councilors
- The council voted on rules to allow any hyperscale data center to be built in Muscogee County
- And the council voted on a curfew for minors in the Uptown District.
All of which kept the L-E buzzingly busy and y’all especially engaged with our content.
So, before the new school year starts next month, now seems to be a timely time to conduct a public forum that allows folks to:
- Meet L-E staff members
- Better understand what we do, how we do it and why
- Share your local news tips, feature story ideas, investigation suggestions and compelling questions for our reporters to pursue.
Our event will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 30 in the Columbus Public Library auditorium, 3000 Macon Road.
I look forward to this community conversation. If you want to contact me before then, I welcome your call at 706-572-6272 or your email at mrice@ledger-enquirer.com.
Thanks for reading the L-E.
