Fifth person charged in Foxy Lady Lounge homicide turns himself in to police
A 17-year-old turned himself in to police Thursday in connection with a June nightclub shooting in Columbus that left one man dead.
Vectrez Thomas is charged with one count of murder and one count of entering an auto, according to police.
Four other people, all 18 or younger, already have been arrested for their roles in the June 5 shooting at the Foxy Lady Lounge in Columbus. Samuel London, 40, died from multiple gunshot wounds after a struggle with one of the teens, police said.
Police say the group went to the club to break into cars parked outside, The Ledger-Enquirer reported.
A 14-year-old who was arrested in the case told police he fired the fatal shots, according to court testimony earlier this month, The Ledger-Enquirer reported. The 14-year-old, who has not been identified, is charged with murder as an adult, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and entering an auto, The Ledger-Enquirer reported.
Only one of people charged in London’s death is an adult. Cecil Brian Berguin, 18, was arrested July 29 in Phenix City and also was charged with murder and entering an auto.
Thomas’ Recorder’s Court hearing will be Friday at 9 a.m.
