Second teenager dies in shooting on Canaan Drive in Columbus, Muscogee coroner says

A second teenager is dead following a shooting on Canaan Drive Wednesday, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said.

Bryan said Dai’John Ross, 18, was pronounced dead at 8:19 p.m. Friday at a local hospital.

Ross is now the second teenager to die from the shooting that occurred in the 8300 block of Canaan Drive. J’Mauri Taylor, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:38 a.m. Wednesday after suffering a gunshot wound, police said at the time.

The shooting, which happened in the 8300 block of Canaan Drive, was reported around 12:35 a.m. Wednesday. CPD’s violent crimes unit was investigating.
