Columbus police make arrests in shooting death of man on Stone Park Drive

Three people have been arrested and charged with murder and other criminal charges in connection with the October shooting death of a man in Columbus, the Columbus Police Department announced Thursday.

Police said Ka’Sean Huff, 26, Marques Lattimor, 22, and Uriel Reed, 25, were arrested and charged in connection with the death of 40-year-old William Tatum on Stone Park Drive.

Police said officers responded around 8:50 p.m. Oct. 10 to the 5000 block of Stone Park Drive, where they found Tatum suffering from a gunshot wound. Tatum was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 p.m., according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

According to police, the three suspects are charged with murder, armed robbery, first-degree home invasion, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and third-degree cruelty to children

Huff was taken into custody Thursday by CPD’s Fugitive Unit, and Lattimor and Reed were served while being held in the Muscogee County Jail on unrelated charges, police said.

The three suspects are scheduled to appear at 8 a.m. Feb. 6 in Columbus Recorder’s Court for a preliminary hearing, according to the news release.
