Officials identify man found dead near abandoned trailer in Auburn

Christopher Noland Rogers, 54, of Headland, Ala. was the man found dead Saturday afternoon near an abandoned trailer in the 200 block of Lee Road 2177, according to Auburn Police.

Officials struggled to identify Rogers immediately after they discovered him lying unresponsive in the roadway near an abandoned trailer around 2:20 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m. and transported to Alabama State Medical Examiner’s office in Montgomery for an autopsy and identification.

“Auburn detectives were able to determine his identity with the assistance of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Identification Bureau Latent Prints Unit,” officials stated in the press release.” Roger’s identity was confirmed through finger print identification,”

The Auburn Police Division, the State Medical Examiner’s Office and the Lee County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate Roger’s death as a homicide.
