Meriwether County cancels school for two weeks to reduce potential coronavirus exposure

Meriwether County Schools will close all schools for two weeks, March 16 through March 27, or until further guidance recommends otherwise.

The decision was made to support the state’s recommendation to reduce potential exposure to the new coronavirus, according to the district’s website.

There has not been a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Meriwether County.

School is being held Friday to prepare all students for at-home learning over the coming weeks.

All school activities will also be suspended during this time, including athletic competitions and other events until further notice.

  • George E. Washington Elementary
  • Mountain View Elementary
  • Unity Elementary
  • Manchester Middle
  • Manchester High
  • Greenville Middle
  • Greenville High
