Dome home for sale in Missouri turns heads — but there’s a catch. Take a look inside
From a distance, this geometric dome home for sale in Rolla, Missouri, offers up a cool aesthetic appeal, with its army green exterior that appears to blend into its wild surroundings.
But there’s a little something missing when it comes to the interior.
Like, well, all of it.
Except for the basement — that’s finished.
While it’s on the market for $750,000, it’s not exactly just the dome home you’re paying for — it’s also the land. And there’s a lot of that land at 173 acres, leaving the house to rest in seclusion, away from all the hustle and bustle of city life.
Not to mention the fact that it also comes with a grass air strip and an open airplane hanger, according to the listing on Zillow.com.
Based off the photos, the house is far from finished with its exposed walls and incomplete floors, but the bones are all there and appear strong and more than ready for someone to step in and use their imagination to create their dream home.
“The main floor features a bedroom with automatic, roll-up storm shutters,” the listing on Zillow says. “The rest of the main and upper floors are mostly unfinished, creating a blank slate to build out your dream home! At the top of the home is an amazing lookout tower with gorgeous, 360 degree views.”
Dome homes have been hot on the real estate market in the past couple of years, with ones popping up all over the place, McClatchy News reports. Like this one in Hawaii that happens to be a little “hidden slice of paradise,” or this one in North Carolina that looks akin to a “bunker on Endor.”
Rolla is about 105 miles southwest of St. Louis.
