When do polls open in Georgia? And what’s on the ballot for Election Day
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Georgia, and two statewide races are on the ballot Tuesday.
The Public Service Commission has two seats up for grabs this election: District 2 and District 3.
Two Democratic candidates are seeking to flip seats on the five-member commission, which currently is made up entirely of Republicans. Here are the candidates on the ballot:
Public Service Commission, District 2
- Tim Echols (R) (Incumbent)
- Alicia M. Johnson (D)
Public Service Commission, District 3
- Fitz Johnson (R) (Incumbent)
- Peter Hubbard (D)
The Public Service Commission regulates power companies and has influence in the source of power as well as the cost for consumers.
