Alabama's Attorney General Richmond Flowers this morning halted -- at least temporarily -- criminal prosecution of Phenix City's Inferior Court Judge Ed Lunsford.

Clara Bow Dies

Clara Bow, the sensuous "It Girl" of the silent screen, died Sunday night while watching a late television movie. She was 60.

UDC Convention

The United Daughters of the Confederacy will hold its state convention here Oct. 3-6. More than 200 delegates and guests, including the general president, first vice president, and the third vice president, will attend the convention.
