Glenwood to host basketball camp for boys and girls
After bringing home both the AISA Class 3A boys and girls basketball state titles, Glenwood is offering kids the chance to camp with the champs.
Glenwood is hosting a basketball camp at the school June 5 through June 7 from 9:00 a.m. EST to noon. The camp is for boys and girls ages 5 to 13 and is open to the public.
Boys basketball coach Dusty Perdue said the camp will help young players’ basic basketball skills. The camp will be run by the boys and girls coaching staffs, therefore providing the young players with experienced mentors. The camp is $75 and includes a t-shirt.
“We would love for you to come to camp with the champs,” Perdue said.
The Lady Gators, led by head coach Julie Humphries, ran roughshod over most of their competition in the 2016-2017 season, posting a 28-1 record and winning their third state championship in four years.
The Gators, meanwhile, got over the hump after several years of coming close, taking down perennial playoff rival Tuscaloosa Academy to capture Perdue’s third state title as head coach.
