Chattahoochee Valley High School Football Rundown: Week 6

After another big victory, one team has moved itself up to the No. 2 spot in the Rundown.

Northside continues to impress in 2017, moving to 4-0 with a come-from-behind victory over Carver Friday. The win is the Patriots’ first over the Tigers in school history and gives Northside its first 4-0 start since 2011.

Below is the latest rankings in their entirety:

2. Northside Record: 4-0 (1-0) Last Week: W 23-20 vs Carver This Week: at Americus-Sumter, 7:30 p.m.

3. Manchester Record: 4-0 (1-0) Last Week: W 35-19 at Jordan This Week: vs Marion County, 7:30 p.m.

4. Marion County Record: 4-0 (1-0) Last Week: W 45-20 at Lamar County This Week: at Manchester

5. Spencer Record: 3-1 (0-0) Last Week: W 26-13 at Dougherty This Week: at Crisp County, 7:30 p.m.

With two extra days to prepare, the Greenwave made quick work of Dougherty. Quarterback Dy'Javius Nathan came through in a big way, scoring four total touchdowns in the victory. The Greenwave will have their luck cut out for them on the road against Crisp County, which has lost one time in its last 17 games.

Entering the season, the Gators were expected to be a force in AISA Class 3A but have recently hit a snag with two consecutive one-point losses. Glenwood will face a big test this week at Morgan Academy, a team that handed the Gators a 34-6 defeat in 2016.

Well, that escalated quickly. Up 20-10 in the fourth quarter against Northside, the Carver Tigers saw yet another game slip away down the stretch. Despite a perceived abundance of talent, Carver seeks its first win under head coach Calvin Arnold in a game against a solid Westover team. At some point, something’s gotta give.
