Local teams hold steady in latest GSWA football polls
The latest edition of the Georgia Sports Writers Association’s football polls saw little change concerning teams in and around Columbus.
Manchester stayed put as the No. 3 team in Class A for the second straight week. The Blue Devils sit at 4-0 after beating Jordan 35-19 in Memorial Stadium Friday.
Northside drew more attention this week, though it was not enough to crack Class 4A’s Top 10. The Patriots drew three points from the voters — two more than last week — after defeating Carver 23-20 and moving to 4-0.
Marion County received one point in Class A, marking the first time the Eagles received a vote this fall. Marion County is also 4-0 and faces off with Manchester on Friday.
Below are the GSWA polls in their entirety. Please note that the number in parentheses represents the number of first-place votes the team received, and the number to the right is the total points it received from the voters.
