Georgia's Keith Marshall ditches knee brace, no longer thinks of injury
Keith Marshall says he’s overcome the final hurdle in his recovery.
Marshall, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in 2013, has moved around fine on the practice field and teammates have made mention at how the speedster has regained his form. But the lone remaining part for Marshall to get past was thinking about re-injury.
“Mentally, I never felt like I lost any confidence or anything,” Marshall said. “If you go out there and it doesn’t feel good, you think about it then. But I’m at the point now where I’m not worried about it.”
Marshall was unable to fully recovery for the 2014 season and it showed early. He only totaled 24 yards on 12 carries before being shut down.
The last remaining piece of the injury for Marshall was a protective brace he wore during the limited game time he saw. That’s now gone, which has allowed Marshall to feel like his old self again.
“I ditched the brace during camp,” Marshall said. “I didn’t want to wear the brace. Once you ditch that, you feel the confidence is best.”
