Ledger-Enquirer reveals 2019 All-Bi-City Football Team and players, coaches of the year
The high school football season has concluded, and several area teams had state championship appearances.
Central, Marion County and Glenwood each made their respective state championship games.
Marion fell to Irwin County, Glenwood lost to Bessemer and Central lost a state title rematch with Thompson.
Carver’s season ended with a loss to Marist in the sweet 16 of the 4A playoffs.
As part of the Ledger-Enquirer’s 2019 All-Bi-City Football Team, one player was chosen as the Offensive Player of the Year and one as the Defensive Player of the Year. Additionally, two coaches were chosen as Co-Coaches of the Year.
Here is the L-E’s 2019 All-Bi-City Football Team:
TOP INDIVIDUAL HONORS
Player of the Year: Carver senior Khiari McCoy.
Offensive Player of the Year: Marion County senior Trice McCannon.
Defensive Player of the Year: Central senior P.J. Ramsey.
Co-Coaches of the Year: Corey Joyner of Carver and Chris Kirksey of Marion County.
FIRST-TEAM OFFENSE
Quarterback: Carver sophomore D.J. Riles.
Running back: Central senior Joseph McKay, Marion County senior Brandon Thomas and Shaw junior Amir Harper.
Wide receiver: Central senior E.J. Williams, Carver senior Ja’Cyais Credle and Harris County senior Tailique Williams.
Tight end: Northside senior Owen Schilke.
