Columbus Cottonmouths re-sign Craig Simchuk, Patrick McCadden
The Columbus Cottonmouths have re-signed a pair of forwards -- Craig Simchuk and Patrick McCadden -- the team announced Wednesday.
Both will be back for their second season with the Cottonmouths, a member of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
"We are really excited to have these players back," coach Jerome Bechard said in a news release. "They were very reliable for us down the stretch last year and added a really effective physical presence to the team."
McCadden scored 6 goals and 10 assists for a total of 16 points in 55 games.
Simchuk had 8 goals and 18 assists for a total of 26 points. He also scored a pair of goals in the playoffs.
"Both of these players played on the same line last year, which will be very beneficial to team chemistry for the upcoming season," Bechard said. "Having players who have had an extensive amount of playing time together is always essential for a team's success."
The Cottonmouths will open the 2015-16 season at home on Oct. 23.
