Freeman’s overtime goal lifts Snakes to win

Cody Freeman scored his second goal of the night in overtime to lift the Columbus Cottonmouths to a 2-1 overtime win against Peoria.

Freeman scored his first goal at 1:56 of the second period to give the Snakes a 1-0 lead. He got assists from Levi Lind and Ben O’Quinn.

Peoria tied it 1-1 on a goal by Connor P. Toomey at 13:19 of the second period.

After a scoreless third period, Freeman scored at 1:51 of overtime on an assist from Lind for the win. Brandon Jaeger got the win as goalie. He stopped 32 of 33 shots.

Columbus played Peoria late Friday night and will close out the season with Peoria today at 8:05 p.m.
