The opening of a restaurant in Phenix City will serve as a school fundraiser.

Jersey Mike’s Subs is opening at 3543 US Highway 280 on June 4. As part of its grand opening, the sandwich restaurant partnered with the Central High School Athletics Department to raise money in support of the school’s student athletes.

“Our responsibility as a brand is to give for the sole purpose of giving — not to receive, but to uplift,” Mark Kane, local franchise owner, says in the news release. “We’re excited to be a part of the Phenix City community and look forward to many years of service and support.”

Customers can participate in the fundraiser by using a coupon distributed through “grassroots efforts,” according to the news release. Customers who present their coupon can make a minimum $2 contribution to the Central High School Athletics Department in exchange for a regular sub.

The fundraiser will last from June 4-8. Jersey Mike’s will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

This is the fourth restaurant to open in this Highway 280 commercial development project, following Outback Steakhouse, Chipotle and Starbucks.

Jersey Mike’s has over 4,000 locations open and in development across the country, according to the news release. This location will be the fifth Jersey Mike’s in the Columbus area.
