Two popular restaurant chains are joining a commercial development under construction in Columbus.

Raising Cane’s, a Louisiana-based fried chicken chain, and Jim ‘N Nick’s, a barbecue chain based in Birmingham, Alabama, are the two new restaurants joining the new Sons Chevrolet dealership being built at Columbus Park Crossing.

The Ledger-Enquirer reported two years ago the plan for Sons Chevrolet to move its Columbus facility from Manchester Expressway to Whittlesey Boulevard.

Raising Cane’s will be located at 5720 Whittlesey Blvd, according to its permit filed with the Columbus Inspections and Codes Department. Jim ‘N Nick’s will be located at 5604 Whittlesey Blvd, according to its proposal.

They will join another national brand on the site. The Ledger-Enquirer reported in February that Dallas-based Dave & Buster’s, a restaurant, bar and arcade, is bringing a franchise to the property.

Representatives of Raising Cane’s and Jim ‘N Nick’s did not respond to the Ledger-Enquirer’s requests for comment before publication.

Jim ‘N Nick’s has 56 locations, including 20 in Georgia, according to its website. Raising Cane’s has over 800 locations nationwide, including seven in Georgia. Both restaurants are setting up their first franchises in Columbus.
